Receiving Services

Receiving Services is responsible for the receiving and delivery of shipments for the UCR campus. Receiving handles outgoing campus shipments (freight and small packages) as well.

Receiving Services is located in the UCR Corporation Yard and is open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

Receiving Services manages both inbound and outbound shipments for the entire UCR campus. FedEx Express and UPS offer daily pickups Monday through Friday — FedEx at 3:00 pm and UPS between 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm. If either carrier does not come directly to your department, contact Receiving Services, and we'll arrange pickup of your outgoing package.

We're also happy to help departments select the right carrier for their needs. Some information to keep in mind:

  • FedEx is UC's contracted package carrier, offering an 80% discount on departmental accounts along with access to corporate customer support.
  • UPS provides discounts to UC users as well, and we can set your department up with UPS CampusShip, their user-friendly web application.
  • DHL is required by the USDA for some research shipments, and it can also be effective for document delivery to Europe and Asia. For additional information regarding international shipping, please review our International Shipping page.

Receiving Services maintains a current inventory of available gas canisters and cylinders for use by departments across campus. The table below reflects in-stock items and is subject to change as inventory is updated. To place an order, please fill out a Receiving Services Work Order. For IDT orders, please read the IDT Order Procedure first.
